British Standard BS: 9999 Code of Practice for Fire Safety in the Design, Management and Use of Buildings - Training

On the 10th July 2008 the British Standard BS: 9999: Code of Practice for Fire Safety in the Design, Management and Use of Buildings, specifically developed to match the Risk Assessment based fire safety legislation that now applies throughout the United Kingdom, was approved for publication by BSI. Dave Berry Director of FARMSS was one of the co-authors of the document and has a unrivalled knowledge of its potential application within the built environment.

The publication of this Standard is a landmark, as the processes that are used within the Standard, are totally different to anything that have been used before. It is due to be launched by BSI early in November 08 (exact date still to be confirmed), with the current BS 5588 series of standards (that cover the provision of fire precautions in buildings) due to be withdrawn six months after the launch date.
